Week 22: Pond Inlet (June 4-11, 2004)

The floe edge is located on the eastern shore of Bylot Island about 45 miles from Pond Inlet. Bylot Island being one of the largest bird sanctuaries in Nunavut and we were fortunate to see not only many of its 250,000 murre birds, but also many, many rare birds such as King Eiders, Arctic loons, a Jaeger, gyrfalcon - and even two Ross Seagulls!
