Sunrise
Sunny is her nickname! And she is named so because Sunny is a super happy Polar Husky who loves to brings lots of sunshine to the moment, preferably at full pace through the woods exploring out in front of her littermates.
Sunny is actually already quite the Superstar. At the young age of six months she already has three TV appearances under her paws, one visit to the University of Minnesota stage at the great Minnesota-get-together, the Minnesota State Fair and - she is was named by more than 3000 people across the United States, even around the world!
Well really, eight people named her:

But more than 3000 names were submitted - 3281 names to be exact. See, Sunrise is the NBC KARE 11 Polar Husky! So, when we set out to name her, it was announced on the KARE 11 Sunrise morning show and people then submitted names online. Early on submissions came in every single minute. Sunrise was the name suggested by the largest number of people, and watching Sunny rumbling around the puppy pen always happy and full of energy to explore the day for new adventures, Sunrise seemed the perfect fit. Especially that at the same time it obviously works beautifully for the KARE 11 puppy to be named just that!
